Longboarding - Los Pobladores

Los Angeles is right in our backyard and we're happy to present our first video really featuring downtown LA. We really did not show the clean parts of downtown in this video but rather a very grungy, slightly dirty, and colorful arts district of LA with Ari ripping the Fattail. You may recognize Ari from the "Swirling Samas" video; he has a very unique dance style that is very entertaining to watch. What is impressive is that he can still bust out intricate footwork moves on a smaller, more sensitive board like the Fattail. Stoked to present this video to you all. It has a very "Sunny Side Up" feel with fast cuts of B-Roll on the beats. We focused on doing a lot of follow shots to create a dynamic vibe with lots of movement and action. I had fun playing around with city sound effects for this video. Adam S. killed it with the filming, and Ari jammed on his board.

Taylor Knox High Five

His smooth, powerful style has never lost its edge and his all round act has stayed progressive through two decades. Currently in a record 19th consecutive year on the elite ASP World Tour, Taylor’s career has been a lesson in how to surf and how to live. Who better to ask then for five golden rules on how to be a better surfer. 1) Never turn your back to the ocean. Always pay attention to the conditions at all times. By constantly knowing what the waves, weather and ocean is up to you will be in a much better position to score better waves. It’s a simple thing, but I live my life by it. 2) Practice makes perfect. I make sure I surf even on the bad days, especially if you haven't surfed in a while. It’s sometimes easy to come up with an excuse not to surf, but I’ll guarantee you will always come out feeling better for getting in the water and way more prepared when the waves get good. 3) Don't try to ride the glass slipper. Trying to ride boards that are too narrow or too thin makes surfing a little frustrating. Remember that foam is your friend and that by riding the boards that suit you and the waves you ride, you’ll have a far better surf. 4) Trust your gut feeling when it comes to riding big waves - riding big waves is a special part of surfing, but there is only one person that knows your limit and that’s you. In times of pressure or adrenalin, don’t over think it, let your instincts take over. They will keep you stoked and safe. 5) Ride a Carver skateboard on the days you can't surf. There’s plenty of days when you can’t surf and for me the next best thing is to surf the concrete on my skateboard. It amps me to try new carves in the next surf and is as much fun as you can have out of the water.

Kelly Slater Surf Park

Kelly Slater Surf Park Kelly Slater Surf Park; from $45 (est. ticket cost per one-hour session)Graham Murdoch Riding man-made surf typically means catching choppy, underwhelming swells in short five-to-10-second spurts. A project known as the Kelly Slater Surf Park, designed in partnership with its 10-time world-champion namesake, generates currents that provide surfers with rides of a full minute or longer. Waves form at the outer edge of the five-million gallon circular tank and break as they run up the pool floor, which mimics the seabed as it approaches shore. The pools may appear in such locations as resorts and theme parks, and can be scaled up or down to cater to available space. But how will the park create these waves? GENERATING A CURRENT In nature, wind gusts far offshore form ripples on the ocean surface. As they move toward shore, those small ripples merge into larger ones and grow into waves. To simulate that in a small area, the wave park’s designers use curved hyrdrofoils of at least 100 feet long, which rotate behind a protective fence around the pool’s perimeter and push the water toward the center of the tank. Their tapered shape creates a smooth, rolling current that flows around the approximately 0.35-mile loop. Adjusting the speed of the foils helps change the waves’ height from three-foot rollers to eight-foot barrels. CREATING A SWELL As the current travels, it hits the upward-sloping floor. The change in depth agitates the water into a swell, where it breaks into ocean-like crests that surfers who have paddled out can catch. MANAGING TURBULENCE Along both edges of the tank, trenches absorb turbulence, making for a smoother water surface and glassier waves. HITTING THE SHORE After a ride (or nasty wipeout), surfers land on a beach-encircled island, which is also accessible by bridge for spectators, to relax before their next run.

RIP CURL GROM SEARCH LIENCRES

por I.Iraola RIP CURL GROM SEARCH BY POSCA // STOP 3 y última.
